Whitewater Parks International (WPI,) leaders in project development, programming, and operations of state-of-the-art whitewater facilities have, along with an appointed project design team, developed the compliant design for the Broxbourne Whitewater Canoe Centre which will serve as the London 2012 Olympic Canoe/ Kayak Slalom venue.
As one of the most popular sports on the Olympic program, Canoe/ Kayak Slalom, along with its specific venue demands, requires a unique balance of expertise, skill, and creativity for athletes, organizers, and spectators alike. As whitewater course specialists, WPI couldn't be better suited to this project, with its unparalleled Games-related and international sport-specific experience.

In returning to Olympic service, WPI recognizes yet another opportunity to instill their distinctive brand of whitewater course development in London - a world-class and community-accessible venue built upon sound planning principles, design-focused efficiency, and controlled costs.
"What sets WPI apart is that our projects are fiscally responsible and operationally sustainable", observes Bob Campbell, WPI's Managing Director. "That's our signature approach and it will represent an essential contribution to London 2012 Olympic Games."

"We are honored to once again be playing an integral role in the Olympic process, in developing a whitewater venue that will not only serve its Olympic constituents, but become a compelling attraction for visitors to the United Kingdom, as well", notes WPI Projects Manager John Felton."The hosting communities of northeast London deserve a rich and sustainable legacy venue from this project and WPI is committed to realizing that vision."
The collaboration with London 2012 marks a significant return to the Olympic movement for the WPI Team, whose principals oversaw the design, construction, and implementation of the very successful 2000 Olympic Whitewater venue in Penrith, Australia. The Penrith facility remains to date the only fully commercial purpose-built whitewater operation in the world with a sustained history of financial prosperity.
